In 2023, the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Trinidad and Tobago hosted their third annual international forum on big data and tech in the Caribbean.

With previous years impacted by the pandemic, and strictly virtual, 2023 was an extensive in-person event. It called for a kinetic visual identity with 360 collateral – from digital to print, signage to backdrops. Central to the conference was the topic of AI, along with the introduction of a sixth-form battle bots competition.

Embodying the disruptive force of AI is the 2023 logo itself, interrupted right at the centre. An echoing visual motif emulates the ripple effects of this disruption. And transparent and tactile 3D glass elements reference topics of the day. Finally, for the battle bots competition, I took inspo from turn-based strategy, 8-bit gaming, and…Robocop.
